You will be working in the Digital & Process Excellence (DPE) department. The goal of this department is to accelerate, inspire and support TenneT's transformation towards digital and process excellence. In this role you will be working closely together wilth 10 data scientists and 5 digital product managers from DPE and have a close working relationship with other IT, process and data management experts throughout TenneT. The team is partly located in Arnhem (NL), Lehrte (DE) and Bayreuth (DE). Exchange of knowledge within the team is key. Therefore it is expected to travel to Germany 2-6 times a year.

This will be our challenge

The world around us is changing rapidly. The European electricity market is becoming more integrated and there is more electricity being transmitted across borders. Pushed by governments and the general public, there is a rapid transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, and increased focus on the need for European energy independence. At the same time, energy generated locally and by individual households is replacing demand for centrally-produced power. Consumers also become producers, or 'pro-sumers'. Consequently, electricity supply and demand patterns are becoming more complex, making our task to ensure security of supply even more challenging.

To manage this increasingly complex system, TenneT needs to embrace new data sources and analytical tools. One of the important areas of development are Intelligent Document Solutions. First products, like automated quality control of supplier documentation of Offshore Platforms, are successfully brought to production. This has shown the big potential for other areas as well.

Your contribution to TenneT

As a data scientist, with a specialization in Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision, you will be the thought leader on developing Intelligent Document Solutions within TenneT. You bring these solutions to the next level. This means balancing between creating innovative solutions and contributing to solid foundations to reliably roll out productionized solutions. For this you will scout for new data analytics technologies and methods that could solve real business problems. You will part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining the containerized document controlling applications.
