The unit Energy System Planning (ESP) has a broad perspective on the future energy system, including electricity, gas, and sector coupling. ESP carries out analyses including scenario planning, market analysis and load-flow calculations. Furthermore, it defines principles for using an asset or a non-asset mitigation. For ESP we are looking for a fulltime 'Policy Advisor System Outlook' for our main office in Arnhem.

We are looking for a passionate Policy Advisor System Outlook who will contribute to this and that might be you?

Your contribution to TenneT

• Steer and participate in scenario storyline development with regards to energy transition
• Investigate energy trends with impact on the energy system
• Support methods to assess impact for non-asset related solutions, like e.g. market solutions, sector integration. In addition you will create methods to assess sector coupling impact on scenario storylines. 
• Lead initiatives for proof of principle for non-asset related solutions
• Participate on behalf of TenneT in national and international working groups & contribute to network development plans and system adequacy studies for both the Netherlands and Germany and on a European level

Your Profile and background

• You have a relevant university degree (for instance a background in chemical technology or in administration). 
• You are not afraid of uncertainties, you are able to create frameworks to challenge assumptions, test these frameworks in discussions with others and then make well-founded statements about future expectations
• You enjoy working with different scenarios and can use models as support to perform meaningful analyses to prove or disprove a previously formulated thesis and can communicate these with different stakeholders including policy makers
• You see structures, connections and coherence between matters and, depending on the question, you can quickly place them in a total framework
• You use your open style of communication (in English and preferrably in Dutch or German) to actively discuss with your colleagues and to convince others with arguments
