Your tasks and responsibilities
To step up TenneT's performance on digital events and participation in a fast changing society TenneT is looking for an communication advisor with experience in both the area of organizing digital events as well as writing tailor made content on different topics for multi stakeholders.
For this function we seek for an energizing, experienced communications advisor who knows how to set the right tone both externally and internally and has experience in working with different internal stakeholders on different levels and has an interest in the changing European energy market and energy transition.
In your role as Communication Advisor, you will help to strengthen TenneT's reputation by advising on Board level as well as on several topics like Safety and IT, providing effective and strategic communication advice and keeping an eye on the implementation of integrated communication both internal as well as external.
As a professional communication advisor, is it second nature to give and communicate smart, thorough and surprising advice. Do you bring together all those involved to jointly strengthen and secure the reputation of our company? Can you combine strategic and tactical skills with operational determination and excellent writing skills? Then we are looking for you!
You are a self-managing professional who is able to understand the complex playing field in which TenneT operates and who can offer high-quality communications advise. You have experience and understand IT-landscapes from a communication perspective and know the virtual media landscape to organize different types of digital or hybrid events with interactive opportunities.
You are good at storytelling and experienced in developing communication plans. Your ability to develop stakeholder-specific content from complex issues makes it a human oriented, sympathetic and accessible. You are able to develop cross-media communication plans for complex topics and projects with a "campaign" approach that combines media communication, internal and external communication and digital communication.
What do we expect from you?
- You have a HBO or university education in the area of Communication and/or digital media
- several years of experience as a communications professional and experience in the communicative support of projects
- Experience with larger and complex digital and online events
- You have sound knowledge of various communication tools and channels, especially social media
- You are proactive, familiar with TenneT's political and media environment, and independently translate this knowledge into communication plans;
- You will work closely with colleagues in the Public Affairs & Communication (PUC) department;
- You have strong communication skills, are persuasive and have a confident writing style
- You are proactive, you have a "can do" mentality and positive energy.
- You are a creative as well as an outgoing, team-oriented person with a high degree of operating independence.

The Public Affairs and Communications unit is responsible for creating political and social support for the role, activities and positions of TenneT and for linking its employees to common principles: Purpose, Promise and Principles. With an integrated Public Affairs and Communication role, TenneT is able to provide input for relevant policy and to explain TenneT's strategy and positions to key stakeholders (such as politicians, media, employees) with the aim of increasing understanding, acceptance and support. We do this in connection, with an integrated communication approach.
