Wat doe je als Offshore Installation Manager GSO bij TenneT?

The Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) oversees operations on the Dutch offshore assets, including the health, safety and welfare of all crew, as well as environmental aspects. Next to that, the OIM ensures that operations are performed in line with applicable rules and regulations. In case of an emergency during operations on a platform, the OIM is the emergency response leader, taking measures to ensure the safety of personnel and the installation. The OIM reports to the Area Manager.

Tasks and responsibilities includes:

  • Preparing and managing safe maintenance operations on the cable systems and platforms by TenneT personnel, subcontractors and Third Parties;
  • Coordinating operations between offshore and on shore assets;
  • Ensuring compliance to legislations and SHE-rules for internal and external personnel;
  • In charge of the Permit To Access and Permit To Work system, providing a safe place to work including tag outs and lock outs (Werkverantwoordelijke);
  • On-site Emergency Leader in case of emergencies, ensuring safety of the personnel and the assets, establishing and maintaining communication lines with the Crisis Manager;
  • Knowledge and experience transfer to further operational readiness of upcoming assets.

Wat verwachten we van jou?

  • A relevant Bachelor diploma;
  • Accepted safety leader, able to lead multi-cultural (subcontractor) teams in both the on shore and off shore domain;
  • Experienced in planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and reporting maintenance and repair work across a range of disciplines;
  • Relevant experience with switching operations in high voltage installations in line with the Offshore Electrical Safety standard (based on NEN ISO 3140 and NEN ISO 3840);
  • Solid technical background and experience with electrical (LV, HV, GIS) and mechanical systems (HVA/C, Foam and Gas Fire Fighting and other aux systems) and installations;
  • Balanced interpersonal communication skills;
  • Language skills in both Dutch and English, verbal and in writing at Level B2 or higher;
  • Skilled in off shore operations, including ship access and helicopter access to the platform;
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in occupational safety and environmental protection;
  • Knowledge of offshore regulatory conditions and legislation.

Proven safety leadership capabilities are essential. An offshore medical examination and a number of required trainings must be performed with a positive outcome on a regular basis. This role will require extensive travel, both on land and off shore, and will in require offshore deployment ranging from single day deployments up to two week on – two week off rotations during extended periods of time.

In 2019, the first Dutch offshore substation, Borssele Alpha, is due to be operational, with 7 additional offshore substations following from 2020 through 2026. Within Grid Service Offshore (Germany and the Netherlands), an Operations and Maintenance department is set up for the Dutch assets.
