Wat doe je als Offshore Grid Developer bij TenneT?

Within Offshore Grid NL, the team Business Consolidation is responsible for successful development of the Dutch offshore grid according to the goals of the Energieakkoord, as well as business continuation on the medium and long term. To ensure the interests of TenneT are safeguarded in new policy, legislation and regulation, participation takes place in offshore wind related discussions on national level. For successful and professional engagement in external meetings, content related analyses and TenneT viewpoints are prepared.

As Offshore Grid Developer, you will be responsible for the analysis of offshore grid topics on economic, legal, technical and regulatory aspects, and communication. Focus lies on the activities within the offshore grid programme until 2023 and ensuring the success of the current programme can be used as the basis for development of an innovative and cost effective grid concept for the medium and long term. You will cooperate with various internal departments and depending on your experience directly engage with external stakeholders. You are going to be part of a small team working on current and relevant topics within a highly dynamic working environment. You will be collaborating with specialists from other departments within TenneT.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Creates policy positions for TenneT on various aspects of offshore wind and the offshore grid (e.g. techno-economic analysis and calculations; elaboration of new policies into operational procedures);
  • Is responsible for the creation of the offshore "Quality and Capacity Document" based on the ministry's Development Framework;
  • Prepares stakeholder analysis;
  • Represents TenneT, under guidance of the Senior Advisor Offshore Grid, to stakeholders of the offshore grid to ensure collaboration with ministries and other governmental stakeholders;
  • Prepares stakeholder workshops, consultation sessions and other means to ensure open communication and good working relations with offshore wind developers, NGO's and research institutes;
  • Executes a wide range of studies (legal, regulatory, economic and ecological).

Wat verwachten we van jou?

Candidate profile:

  • You have a Master's degree in e.g. Management and Technology and 3-5 years experience in a similar position;
  • You are able to align information and processes, and are also able to create overview;
  • You have analytical skills, numerical insight and a well-developed conceptual ability;
  • You have excellent reporting skills and are able to translate results into presentable documents, fit for external communication;
  • You have a keen interest in technology;
  • You are able to build up Offshore Wind expertise and have experience with energy laws and policies; (knowledge of the functioning of the government and the regulator is an advantage)
  • You show initiative, have a can-do mentality, are aware of your stakeholders and capable of balanced judgment;
  • You are a native Dutch speaker and fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Offshore NL
In September 2013, over 40 parties in The Netherlands agreed on the Energieakkoord, setting targets and intentions for the transition to a more renewable energy supply. This agreement also sets targets for offshore wind development. In September 2016 the Dutch government appointed TenneT as the offshore grid operator.

In order to initiate, prepare and realize the connections of the offshore wind farms in the Dutch part of the North Sea, a department is formed: Offshore Grid NL. The department consists of the teams Financial (all financial matters), Business Consolidation (safeguarding TenneT's rol as offshore grid operator), Project initiation (preparation of the specific projects), Projects (executing projects) and Operations & Maintenance (including Offshore Maintenance Center).
